Starting with the Spring 2000 semester, new Computer Sciences Department alumni who will no longer be enrolled at the University automatically receive an account on alumni.cs.wisc.edu for receiving mail, accessing AFS space, and providing a web presence. We will set the disk quota for this account to the default disk quota for graduate students and undergraduate CS majors at the time the user becomes alumni.
If you no longer have a CS login and would like to set up an Alumni account, email email@example.com detailing this issue.
Accounts are to be used in accordance with the existing Computer Systems Lab Account Policies. It is expected that alumni accounts will be managed well (e.g. mail is not ignored and allowed to grow endlessly, web pages will not overload our web server, etc.).
Note: Alumni are no longer required to fill out a form in order to acknowledge and keep their alumni accounts. Everything is handled automatically.
Alumni Accounts Prior to Spring 2000
Prior to Spring semester 2000, new Computer Sciences Department alumni who were no longer enrolled at the University had their current Computer Sciences computer accounts moved to alumni.cs.wisc.edu for use as a convenience until 6 months after graduation. After six months, mail will continue to be forwarded if the forwarding address is registered with the Computer Sciences Alumni Group.
Accounts are to be used in accordance with the existing Computer Systems Lab Account Policies.
